Children of Mary & Knights of the
Immaculata
Children of Mary
- The Children of Mary pray the rosary at 10:00 pm in
Zahm's
chapel Monday through Thursday. This is followed by
10:30 pm mass. On Friday we pray the rosary at 8:00 pm
in Zahm's chapel. On Saturday Rosary is prayed at 10:45 in
Zahm Hall Chapel. On Sunday, we meet at the Grotto at 8:00 pm and
pray the rosary around the lake. There is a daily rosary at the Grotto
at 6:45 pm.
- There is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Tuesday and Friday.
On Tuesday, adoration takes place in Alumni's chapel from after mass until
6:45 pm. There is a mass at 3:30 pm and benediction is celebrated at
6:45 pm. On Friday, adoration takes place in
the Basilica in Our Lady's Chapel, which is behind the main altar.
Adoration is
from 12:00 to 4:45 pm. At 4:15 pm, there is a rosary prayed in
front of the Blessed Sacrament, and there is benediction at 4:45 pm.
- Mr. Nolan, a local South Bend resident, is very knowledgeable
on Our
Lady and her apparitions. He holds prayer meetings on Wednesday nights.
Rides leave from the main circle at 6:45 pm. All are invited to
come and pray.
- There is, on the first Saturday of every
month, the first Saturday
devotion which was asked for by Our Lady at Fatima. It is a wonderful
opportunity to make reparation for the sins of the world. It is in the
Alumni chapel at 9:00 am and led by Fr. O'Connor.
- Saturday afternoons there is a group of students volunteering at the
house of a lady who has taken in young children. She needs help around
the house and tutoring the children. If interested in going call Tim at 634-0767.
A Full 24 Hours of Adoration has Begun!
Every Monday night beginning at 11:30 PM, 24 hours of Eucharistic Adoration is held!! It's in the Fisher Hall Chapel, and continues all the way through to 11:00 Tuesday night, then closing with Benediction and mass. Stop by at any time you wish, all are welcome! Or if you would like to sign up for a particular time slot every week, contact Mary Kloska at 634-1432.
Would you like to see perpetual adoration begin on campus? So would we! :) Plans are underway to begin
perpetual adoration; however, we need a location and people to pray in
front of the Blessed Sacrament during all hours of the day. If you want
to help in this effort, please contact Tim Monahan at 634-0767.
Campus ministry is considering increasing times
of exposition on campus. However, Fr. Warner would like to see interest
from students, faculty, staff and others before this will happen. Please
email him and let him know that you think Notre Dame should have perpetual
adoration.

Knights of the Immaculata
Knights of the Immaculata is a student organization at
Notre Dame/Saint
Mary's which is doing something more important than nearly all the other
student organizations on campus. We study what it means to be
devoted to Mary and put it into practice in our lives. We are currently studying three books: St.
Louis deMontfort's True Devotion to Mary, St. Francis deSales' Introduction to Devout Life, and The Catechism of the Catholic Church. We also have holy
hours with exposition, the rosary and a meditation given by Fr.
O'Connor. The meetings are Sunday afternoons. Please check the
schedule for a list of the upcoming
meetings. Don't worry if you
have never been to a meeting before, or if you don't have a chance to read
the material that we will be discussing; because we are discussing
something which is natural to all Catholics--devotion to Our
Blessed Mother. Call Aaron Kheriaty (634-4802) if you would like more
information. Also, extra copies of True Devotion to Mary and Introduction to Devout Life are
available for $5.00 each.
